Public Hearings

The Department of Energy held eight public hearings between May 12 and 22, 2014 at the following locations:

Each hearing began at 5 p.m. with an open house until about 5:45, during which Federal and State personnel and their contractors were be available to answer questions in an informal setting.  At the appropriate time, the DOE representative, Dr. Jane Summerson, gave an overview of PEIS, the NEPA process, and the methods that could be used to submit comments.  After her presentation, interested parties spoke in turn to give comments on the Draft PEIS.  A court reporter transcribed the comments presented at each hearing.
